After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Giants committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The cost of the Polk reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 7 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They reached into another round for Ja'Lynn Polk, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; Kiran Amegadjie went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Cole Bishop at par in pick No. 108, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Isaiah Davis at the 140th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steele Chambers at the 185th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
