The Giants lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
Everything downstream of Drake Maye depends on Drake Maye, and the building knows it. McGlothern at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Ricky Pearsall at pick No. 91 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They robbed the room for Max Melton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Gabriel Murphy at the Round 4 slot is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Taking Luke McCaffrey in the 176th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
