Some picks age like wine; Bub Means at slot 231 will need to, sitting 30 spots clear of his grade. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick 27 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Ja'Tavion Sanders at slot 39 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
T.J. Tampa in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Patrick Paul at the 68th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A conviction pick on Dylan Laube at pick No. 136 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
A big swing on Joe Milton III at pick No. 179, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Bub Means well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
