The war room fell hard for Landon Robinson, and it showed at pick 193: 27 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Delp. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 5 they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value. More want than need.
In No. 10 they get an island corner. A real need, handled.
Caleb Banks in slot 37 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Bryce Lance graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Oscar Delp higher than the 145th pick, and the tight end fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Fair-plus on Domani Jackson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr is a better player than slot 192 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Landon Robinson in pick 193 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
