The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: T.J. Tampa, the No. 51 name on the board, in pick No. 88. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Guyton at No. 41 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They did well to land Junior Colson in pick No. 58, just ahead of his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
T.J. Tampa in the 88th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They robbed the room for Kingsley Suamataia here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
James Williams in Round 4, Pick 26 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
