You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Giants did exactly that with Rod Moore in Round 2, Pick 22. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 5 they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Cooper Beebe at the Round 2 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Rod Moore well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Zak Zinter a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Max Melton at No. 105 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Darius Robinson in pick 142 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Jaylan Ford in pick 190 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
