After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Giants committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They will need Beebe to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Good price on Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 7, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A slide stopped in slot 63, with Calen Bullock worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Cooper Beebe in No. 70, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
TreVeyon Henderson at pick 107 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They read the board right and Khyree Jackson was the payoff at the Round 4 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Cade Stover slipping to the 143rd overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
A clean, defensible pick in the 185th pick with a little surplus value in Christian Jones. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value said wait; Rondell Bothroyd in pick No. 252 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
