The board owed the Eagles one, and it paid up: Tip Reiman, the No. 182 name on the board, sitting there at slot 210 like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Taylor III pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get juice off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
No edge and no loss on T.J. Tampa in No. 50; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy little value on Edgerrin Cooper in Round 2, Pick 21, a step better than break-even. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A reach for Leonard Taylor III in pick No. 98; a little patience would have been rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tommy Eichenberg at pick 161. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Luke McCaffrey in the 171st pick, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Javion Cohen at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Tip Reiman at slot 210 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
