The Eagles looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took David Walker at pick No. 96 regardless, 76 picks early. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Winston Jr.. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a disruptive interior force at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
A clean, defensible pick in the 74th overall pick with a little surplus value in Gunnar Helm. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They reached into another round for David Walker, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cam Skattebo in the Round 4 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
