Kansas City Chiefs

A solid, sensible weekend for the Chiefs: B-.

by homegrown · 2025 NFL Draft · 6 picks · 1 steals · 3 reaches
Value C+

Future B-

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Chiefs started one anyway for Jalen Travis, 93 picks ahead of schedule.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Harold Fannin Jr. · TE · rank 21
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a matchup weapon at tight end, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Charles Grant · OT · rank 94
They reached into another round for Charles Grant, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 69
They paid sticker price for Tyleik Williams in slot 68, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Jayden Higgins · WR · rank 135
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jayden Higgins in the 96th pick, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.32 · Pick 133 · Deone Walker · DT · rank 128
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 133 with a little surplus value in Deone Walker. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.40 · Pick 254 · Jalen Travis · OT · rank 347
Jalen Travis in pick 254 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
