The Eagles' one glaring miss is quarterback, a need they left exactly as they found it.
However the rest shakes out, Vaki at that price is a win they earned. The cost of the Jefferson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Cooper DeJean at par in slot 22, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Xavier Worthy in the 50th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid sticker price for Payton Wilson in pick 53, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Matt Goncalves at the Round 4 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Thomas at pick No. 161 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board had cheaper options than Jordan Jefferson at Round 5, Pick 35, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Sione Vaki at the 172nd pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Curtis Jacobs in No. 210. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
