Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Ty'Ron Hopper got past him. The Eagles do not have to explain a thing at slot 210. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a lockdown presence outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kris Jenkins in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A straight-up fair deal on Xavier Worthy at Round 2, Pick 21, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Beaux Limmer at pick 120 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nothing to complain about; Sione Vaki went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braiden McGregor. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Walter Rouse at the 172nd overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 210 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
