Dallas Cowboys

No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Cowboys.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent the Round 6 slot on Zion Logue, a name the board had a full 38 spots lower.

That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, Oladapo at that price is a win they earned. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 26
They paid sticker price for Jordan Morgan in the 24th overall pick, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R2.24 · Pick 56 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 68
They liked Payton Wilson enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 56. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 109
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ray Davis this early at Round 3, Pick 24. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.24 · Pick 124 · Sincere Haynesworth · C · rank 157
They reached a country mile for Sincere Haynesworth at No. 124, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.38 · Pick 174 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 166
A slide stopped in the Round 5 slot, with Kitan Oladapo worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R6.37 · Pick 212 · Zion Logue · DL · rank 250
Zion Logue in the 212th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Tatum Bethune · LB · rank 254
Tatum Bethune at pick 245 is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
