They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Gino Garcia, 82 picks early at the 220th overall pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Landing Horton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Justin Jefferson gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a downhill hitter at safety. The biggest hole, addressed.
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at fair value. A real need, handled.
Omarion Hampton at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Ozzy Trapilo in the 69th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
Smael Mondon Jr. in pick 106 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tory Horton reach pick No. 144 and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Value said wait; Jabbar Muhammad in Round 7, Pick 1 says they were not listening. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A real head-scratcher, Gino Garcia in No. 220 is miles ahead of his ranking. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ethan Downs well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
