Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on McCormick: D.

Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took McCormick. The veteran additions, Tremaine Edmunds chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.16 · Pick 16 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 14
In the 16th overall pick they get juice off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R1.27 · Pick 27 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 23
In slot 27 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
R1.28 · Pick 28 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 24
In pick 28 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.29 · Pick 29 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 28
No drama and no debate, Kool-Aid McKinstry went about where he belonged in No. 29. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 32
Nothing to complain about; Adonai Mitchell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.31 · Pick 94 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 70
They robbed the room for Kingsley Suamataia here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 138
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Isaac Guerendo. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.2 · Pick 177 · Mason McCormick · OT · rank 152
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Mason McCormick in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.22 · Pick 242 · Bub Means · WR · rank 228
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bub Means at the 242nd pick is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
