This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Cam Skattebo, the No. 114 name on the board, stolen at the Round 5 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 20th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Omarion Hampton in pick 41, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kamari Ramsey in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Deontae Lawson at Round 4, Pick 34 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Somehow Cam Skattebo was still sitting there in slot 168, and they pounced on premier running back value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Elijah Arroyo at the 201st pick is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
