The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Wyatt Milum, Round 7, Pick 31, roughly 211 picks past where he belonged. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get an island corner, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Ashton Jeanty in pick No. 44 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jahdae Barron in pick 76 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Cam Ward at the 149th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
Walter Nolen at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Armand Membou at the 171st overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a wide receiver like Savion Williams reach No. 174 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They robbed the room for Josaiah Stewart here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board fumbled Elijah Arroyo all the way to slot 211, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Wyatt Milum in the 247th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
