They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The cost of the Lindberg reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The Franklin value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get a franchise quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had Troy Franklin higher than the Round 2 slot, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 108 with a little surplus value in DeWayne Carter. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Cedric Gray in the 129th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Cam Hart in the 148th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Nothing to complain about; Keith Randolph Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
LaDarius Henderson in No. 168 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Layden Robinson at pick No. 179 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Chad Lindberg in pick 230 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
