No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the 49ers.

The Jalen Farmer pick is the one that will follow the 49ers into the fall. They took him 48 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
Getting Lane where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get an anchor for the offensive line, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They talked themselves into Jalen Farmer at the Round 2 slot, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Ja'Kobi Lane at slot 127 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Justin Joly in Round 4, Pick 33 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They read the board right and Parker Brailsford was the payoff at No. 138. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Harold Perkins Jr. at pick 139 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
