The Eagles' one glaring miss is edge rusher, a need they left exactly as they found it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
If Magee pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. On value alone, Allen makes the weekend a net positive. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value.
A straight-up fair deal on Junior Colson at No. 50, value and slot in agreement. A minor itch, scratched.
A tidy little value on T.J. Tampa in pick No. 53, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Braelon Allen slipping to Round 4, Pick 20 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jalyx Hunt in slot 161. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tykee Smith at the 171st overall pick is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Dwight McGlothern slid further than he should have, and the 172nd pick is lovely value for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jordan Magee in the Round 6 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
