Philadelphia Eagles

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Eagles and Adams: A-.

Call it larceny. Isaiah Adams sat on the board until the Round 5 slot, and the Eagles did not need to be asked twice. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Donovan Wilson deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Bottom line, with Cooper DeJean leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.28 · Pick 28 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 13
A slide stopped in the 28th overall pick, with Cooper DeJean worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 27
Brian Thomas Jr. in slot 54 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 39
They will replay Tyler Guyton at the 59th pick for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 70
Payton Wilson at Round 3, Pick 34 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R4.23 · Pick 123 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 98
Audric Estime at pick 123 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.24 · Pick 124 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 107
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaden Hicks in the Round 4 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Max Melton · CB · rank 111
Max Melton in No. 127 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Leonard Taylor III · DL · rank 112
Leonard Taylor III in pick No. 137 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Isaiah Adams · OT · rank 126
They robbed the room for Isaiah Adams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 135
Somehow Cedric Gray was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 36, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 158
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Jaylen Wright in the 178th pick, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.22 · Pick 197 · AJ Barner · TE · rank 193
They did well to land AJ Barner in the 197th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.2 · Pick 222 · De'Corian Clark · WR · rank 200
Steal is underselling it; De'Corian Clark at slot 222 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Taulia Tagovailoa · QB · rank 227
Taulia Tagovailoa slid further than he should have, and pick 243 is lovely value for the quarterback. It fills a real need, too.
R7.29 · Pick 249 · Matthew Jones · OG · rank 242
A reasonable price with a little left over, Matthew Jones in pick No. 249. A need, and now a little less of one.
