The search is over. The Giants handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bethune. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In the end it comes back to Jayden Daniels, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Josh Newton is a better player than slot 70 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They let Braelon Allen come to them and pounced at pick 115. The roster fit checks out.
Javion Cohen at the 134th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Justin Eboigbe in Round 6, Pick 10. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board had Tatum Bethune higher than the Round 7 slot, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
