The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Danny Stutsman slide 82 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
The cost of the Frazier reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th pick they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value.
Tyleik Williams in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled TreVeyon Henderson all the way to pick 76, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Simeon Barrow Jr. in Round 5, Pick 11 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Danny Stutsman at No. 170 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They talked themselves into Miles Frazier at pick No. 172, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jaylin Noel in slot 174 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tory Horton in the 190th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Bhayshul Tuten at the 211th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They will replay Jason Marshall Jr. at pick 249 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
