The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Gabriel Murphy, the No. 92 name on the board, sitting there at the 126th pick like a gift left on the doorstep.

The Gore Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
