When a board-topper like Jason Marshall Jr. slides to No. 243, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will need Zabel to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Omarion Hampton in the 58th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dylan Fairchild at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Emery Jones Jr. at No. 127 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They did well to land Chase Lundt in Round 5, Pick 28, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
