The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Davison Igbinosun, No. 129, roughly 49 picks past where he belonged.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Nice patience on A.J. Haulcy, who had no business lasting to the 60th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jacob Rodriguez slipping to slot 63 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 89 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Mike Washington Jr. all the way to Round 3, Pick 31, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Somehow Davison Igbinosun was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy little value on Kaden Wetjen in No. 239, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Xavier Nwankpa in pick 241 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
