They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Caden Curry, 38 picks early at Round 3, Pick 23. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Slaughter at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at pick No. 75 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value said wait; Caden Curry in pick 87 says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at the Round 4 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A slide stopped in No. 127, with Jack Endries worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nothing to complain about; Jakobe Thomas went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
