You could see the war room lean forward. Adonai Mitchell at pick 58 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get an island corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nice patience on Jordan Morgan, who had no business lasting to slot 41. The roster fit checks out.
Somehow Adonai Mitchell was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No drama and no debate, Bucky Irving went about where he belonged in pick 88. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
