Thirty-one other rooms let Tahj Brooks slide, and the Cowboys were the ones holding the card at pick 170. Highway robbery.

Every board in the league had Griffith lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
