· 7 picks
· 3 steals
· 1 reaches
They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Drew Allar, 56 picks early at Round 3, Pick 36.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Hecht. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 31 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
In pick No. 32 they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Dillon Thieneman at pick 33, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dontay Corleone at Round 3, Pick 12. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Skyler Bell at the 85th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Sam Hecht at the Round 3 slot is the proof. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Drew Allar in Round 3, Pick 36 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
