The Packers robbed the room for Wallace. Final grade: B.

Call it larceny. Josh Wallace sat on the board until pick 243, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Tyler Nubin · S · rank 30
In slot 25 they get a centerfielder for the defense. Need was not the driver here.
R2.20 · Pick 52 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 40
Tyler Guyton at the 52nd overall pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Chris Braswell · LB-EDGE · rank 57
Chris Braswell at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.20 · Pick 84 · Josh Newton · CB · rank 82
By-the-book stuff, Josh Newton at pick No. 84 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Michael Hall Jr. · DT · rank 88
No edge and no loss on Michael Hall Jr. in No. 88; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 94
They paid sticker price for Zak Zinter in Round 3, Pick 28, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Daijun Edwards · RB · rank 132
They took Daijun Edwards at par in pick 126, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 157
A slide stopped in the 168th pick, with Ty'Ron Hopper worth more than the price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R6.15 · Pick 190 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 171
They barely believed it either: Joe Milton III still on the board at No. 190. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 214
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jared Wiley. The roster fit checks out.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Josh Wallace · CB · rank 223
The board fumbled Josh Wallace all the way to slot 243, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
