Boards are made to be trusted, and the Chiefs shredded theirs for Tip Reiman. He came off 51 spots early, and the room will hear about it. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Xavier Legette in No. 36, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No drama and no debate, Keon Coleman went about where he belonged in the 40th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid a round early for Dominick Puni in Round 3, Pick 10, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Trey Benson at par in slot 89, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Cam Hart in pick No. 104 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
McKinnley Jackson in pick 124 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A big swing on Tip Reiman at pick No. 131, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
