The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Steele Chambers, the No. 199 name on the board, sitting there at pick 252 like a gift left on the doorstep.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Every board in the league had Jones lower, and that gap is the story. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
