Whoever sat across the table from the Chiefs should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
Milton III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.
On value alone, Jenkins makes the weekend a net positive.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
Fair-plus on Xavier Legette, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kris Jenkins at Round 2, Pick 32 is the proof. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nothing to complain about; Jaden Hicks went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A straight-up fair deal on Kingsley Suamataia at No. 71, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Khyree Jackson at slot 87 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value said wait; Zak Zinter in the 90th pick says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Ben Sinnott at the 109th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Johnny Wilson in pick 131. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid a round early for Myles Cole in pick No. 143, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Joe Milton III in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
