Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Chiefs came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. That Jackson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 24th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy little value on Ja'Lynn Polk in Round 3, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Khyree Jackson at slot 105 is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Nothing to complain about; Zak Zinter went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Johnny Wilson. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
