They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Joe Milton III, 24 picks early at slot 192.
They banked enough surplus on Allen to cover a lot of smaller sins. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a go-to option on the outside, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kingsley Suamataia at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Zak Zinter went about where he belonged in No. 102. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
By-the-book stuff, Johnny Wilson at the 118th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board fumbled Braelon Allen all the way to the 131st pick, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They paid up for Jordan Jefferson at slot 159 when waiting would have done the job. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Tip Reiman slid further than he should have, and pick 179 is lovely value for the tight end. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Joe Milton III at pick No. 192 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
