More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 28 spots for Evan Anderson, and value like that does not grow back.

On value alone, Jones makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 27
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 37
Good price on Jordan Morgan in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 57
No drama and no debate, Payton Wilson went about where he belonged in the 58th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Austin Booker · DE-EDGE · rank 78
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Austin Booker in the 88th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 104
Cole Bishop at pick 91 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 133
Christian Jones in pick No. 126 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 154
Kitan Oladapo slipping to pick 169 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Jordan Magee · LB · rank 222
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Magee this early at No. 202. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Julian Pearl · OT · rank 204
They let Julian Pearl come to them and pounced at the Round 6 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Sheridan Jones · CB · rank 220
They barely believed it either: Sheridan Jones still on the board at slot 245. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Evan Anderson · DL · rank 283
They reached a country mile for Evan Anderson at pick No. 255, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
