The Antwaun Powell-Ryland selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 26 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On value alone, Hancock makes the weekend a net positive. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th overall pick they get an every-down engine for the run game at fair value.
A premium they did not need to pay, Donovan Edwards a notch or two before his time. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A slide stopped in slot 141, with Jordan Hancock worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Andrew Mukuba in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
