There is conviction, and then there is this. The Cardinals took Hollin Pierce a full 40 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Fairchild where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid up for Jalen Royals at the 47th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Hollin Pierce this early at Round 3, Pick 14. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 114 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Jonah Monheim in No. 153; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
