Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Johnny Dixon got past him. The Eagles do not have to explain a thing at the 210th pick. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Every board in the league had Jones lower, and that gap is the story. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
The back end got a real overhaul.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

In slot 22 they get a potential shutdown corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
By-the-book stuff, Edgerrin Cooper at Round 2, Pick 18 squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They paid a round early for Kamren Kinchens in the 53rd pick, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Christian Jones at the 120th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luke McCaffrey at No. 161 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jordan Travis at pick 171 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

They robbed the room for Johnny Dixon here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
