They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Joe Milton III, 47 picks early at No. 153.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
On value alone, Hart makes the weekend a net positive.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 3 they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They jumped the gun on T'Vondre Sweat, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Cade Stover at the 68th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Matt Goncalves in pick 86 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaden Hicks at slot 87, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Will Shipley at the 114th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 137 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Joe Milton III at the 153rd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
