Nobody else had Roman Wilson anywhere near No. 5. The Chargers did, by 41 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

So much rides on J.J. McCarthy that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
