The Chargers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will need Limmer to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 5 they get a red-zone target to build around. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Guyton in No. 37, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Caelen Carson in the 69th pick is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They took Marist Liufau at par in Round 3, Pick 22, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Tyler Davis in the 105th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No edge and no loss on Cole Bishop in slot 126; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A premium they did not need to pay, Beaux Limmer a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
