They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting Allen proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 5 they get a mismatch in the passing game. A real need, handled.
Chop Robinson in the 37th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Byron Murphy II in slot 45; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Blake Corum in pick 58 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
Johnny Wilson in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good price on Jacob Cowing in pick No. 105, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Braelon Allen in the 132nd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 8 with a little surplus value in Michael Barrett. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
