This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jihaad Campbell, the No. 119 name on the board, stolen at pick 144.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 3 they get a building block for the line at fair value.
A quiet steal in the 41st pick: JT Tuimoloau for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Domani Jackson at the 72nd overall pick is the proof. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Malachi Moore at Round 3, Pick 22 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They did well to land Tyler Warren in pick 108, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 144 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Fair-plus on Dont'e Thornton Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
PJ Williams in the Round 7 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
