Some picks age like wine; Blake Watson at Round 7, Pick 23 will need to, sitting 34 spots clear of his grade.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
