The needs board said one thing and the Seahawks did another, using the 128th pick on Will Lee III while edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots waited. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Kilgore at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 16 they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nothing to complain about; Jadarian Price went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They read the board right and Jalon Kilgore was the payoff at No. 118. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Will Lee III in Round 4, Pick 28 leaves edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots for later.
Jaeden Roberts at pick 157 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Aamil Wagner in the 188th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
