The Mason McCormick pick is the one that will follow the Eagles into the fall. They took him 26 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing Corley that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. A minor itch, scratched.
No drama and no debate, Kingsley Suamataia went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Malachi Corley in No. 79 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value said wait; Mason McCormick in the 120th overall pick says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Grayson Murphy in slot 171 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
