The rest of the league had time to spare on Keilan Robinson; the Packers did not wait, grabbing him 65 spots ahead at the 245th overall pick.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
They took T'Vondre Sweat at par in pick No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy little value on Xavier Worthy in the Round 2 slot, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at No. 88 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Khyree Jackson. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, James Williams at Round 4, Pick 26 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No drama and no debate, Kamal Hadden went about where he belonged in the 169th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Tanner McLachlan in pick 202, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jaylan Ford at Round 6, Pick 44. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A wild overpay on Keilan Robinson in No. 245, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kedon Slovis at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
