The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Seahawks watched Mike Washington Jr. slide 24 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
Good price on Jacob Rodriguez in pick 57, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Mike Washington Jr. in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Steal is underselling it; Emmett Johnson at No. 129 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Charles Demmings at pick No. 141 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Beau Stephens at Round 5, Pick 27 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Ephesians Prysock at the 188th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
